The North Shore Craft Group was founded in 1957 by Phyllis Molesworth, a china painter and potter with the aim to foster an interest in crafts and bring together craftworkers of Sydney’s North Shore who have attained a high degree of proficiency in their particular field.

That aim is still maintained whilst we also facilitate the opportunity for members to showcase their creations through our popular two Annual Exhibitions.

Original well known members include Lloyd Rees, Leonard Greening, Grace Cossington-Smith and Colin Parker.

Membership of the group has grown considerably from the original 12 and includes many national and international award-winning artisans.

All members help to run the group and stage a major mid-year annual exhibition and a Christmas sale, with each member having a broad range of original pieces on display for people to view and acquire.

A variety of different crafts such as Fabric Crafts, Jewellery, Glass, Ceramics, Wood, Paper, Leatherwork, Bookbinding and Millinery are represented at the exhibitions.

The North Shore Craft Group’s Annual exhibitions often include a special themed display which challenges the members to create unusual and exciting new work as a show stopper, where the public has the opportunity to vote for their favourite piece in the People’s Choice Award.

New membership enquiries are always welcomed.
