Bobbie Winger studied textile design and production at Sheridan College in Mississauga, Canada, from 1981 to 1984. She graduated with a Diploma of Applied Arts in Textile Design. Following a move to Australian in 1987 and the loss of a large space necessary for textile printing, she concentrated on quilts and artwear garments.A growing interest in beading and smaller scale work led to taking up jewellery and she studies at the Manly-Warringah Evening College. Bobbie continued to study jewellery making while living in Singapore from 1992-95.
Back in Australia, she joined Silver Plus in 1996 and the NSCG in 2001. Bobbie is currently studying jewellery design at The Design Centre, Enmore TAFE.She works mainly in silver, titanium and beads, producing one of a kind originals, and is currently working on making beaded Japanese braids.
