Carolyn’s interest in textiles developed through experimentation and attending may workshops in dyeing techniques with the Australia Batik and Surface Design Association.  Carolyn has become a teacher of the techniques she has developed. 

She has been a member of the NSCG since 1993.

Carolyn considers herself a textile artist.  Her work has sold in galleries in The Rocks, craft shows and exhibitions.

Carolyn uses many different techniques of applying dye to fabric to create garments and accessories of style. 

Her work is influenced by the landscape and detail she sees in Sydney and in her travels in outback Australia. 

She responds to this with printed graphic images and textures in a decorative way and her recent work incorporates discharging the side using shibori methods of resist and devore on silk velvet.
